Pat Merryweather she leads PPC initiatives, including its work on federal healthcare transformation; advocating authentic patient and family engagement across all healthcare settings; promotion of co-design and co-production approaches; and PPC organizational development activities. Pat is leading national and not-for-profit patient and family initiatives locally and nationally, including integration of Person and Family Engagement in hospital, ambulatory care, post-acute care, ESRD facilities, nursing homes, and health systems. She serves as the Patient and Family Engagement Director on a PCORI Award focused on “Patients Improving Research in Diagnosis” with the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine.
Prior to joining PPC, Pat served in Senior and Executive level positions as the Senior Vice President of the Illinois Hospital Association and Executive Director of Telligen's Medicare QIN-QIO programs.
Pat serves and has served on several state and national government and professional organization boards and committees, including several hospital boards and board quality and safety committees. She is a frequent presenter and speaker at national and local community-based organizations and has served as a hospital bed-side Child Life volunteer for 28 years and currently volunteers with Rotary on international health projects in over a dozen developing countries.
